A Dallas police officer was seriously hurt on Wednesday when he crashed his personal motorcycle.
The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Cockrell Hill Road, between Kiest Boulevard and Ledbetter Road, in Dallas.
Officials said Officer Anthony Miles had just finished his overnight shift when he was traveling in the southbound lanes and lost control of the bike.
The vehicle hit a curb and sent Miles airborne. He apparently hit a tree and a utility pole before landing on the ground.
The three-year department veteran was critically injured but doctors at Harris Methodist Hospital said he was improving. Officials said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck.
